Bean’s Beagles Rescue

Tara

Meet Tara!

Tara is a 9 year old female tricolor beagle who was surrendered to Bean’s Beagles Dog Rescue on March 4, 2026 due to her owner no longer being able to care for her due to health issues. Tara is a friendly senior beagle who is just craving attention and love. She is about 48 pounds, generally well-behaved, reportedly good with other dogs, and house-trained. Unknown for behavior with cats and children.

Tara was reportedly left out in the house when her owner was gone and did well, she walks well on the leash, and howls with excitement when you return. She slept in the bed with her owner previously and enjoyed partaking in human food. Due to her weight and health, Tara definitely needs to be on a strict diet and senior exercise plan, in order to achieve a healthy weight. She saw our veterinarian for intake and had a significant dental cleaning, mass removed from her eye area, ear cleaning, fecal test, bloodwork, urinalysis, skin/ear cytology, the works! She is up to date on her vaccinations. Tara does have a grade 3 heart murmur per the examination, cataracts in both eyes, but she is not taking any medications at this time.

Tara needs a foster or foster to adopt home in Southern California. Let’s not let this senior beagle sit in boarding after all she has been through! She is ready to be in a home with someone who can give her a new life, work on her exercise/diet consistently, and focus on her health. Please contact us if you can help out this senior gal!
