Meet Riley
Meet Riley! Riley was rescued from the San Diego Humane Society on December 16th, 2025. This sweet 9-year-old beagle weighs about 15 pounds and has a calm, lovable personality that makes her a joy to be around. Riley loves people and does great with children and other dogs. She’s a fantastic walking buddy who strolls politely on a leash and can go longer than you’d expect for her petite size. She even knows fun commands like sit, stay, down, and paw—especially when she has good footing.
Riley would be happiest in a single-story home, though she can handle stairs just fine. She’s mostly house-trained, enjoys wet food due to sensitive teeth, and has mild separation anxiety, meaning she may protest a little when left alone. She generally does well riding in the crate and likes car rides, snuggling, and learning to play with toys. Riley is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and ready to settle into a cozy home where she can share her gentle affection and loyal companionship.
Riley has been diagnosed with Cushing’s Disease by our veterinarian upon intake and is taking oral medications. Our vet is confident she will do fine with medication onboard. Riley is a happy, sweet beagle girl, and we hope to find a loving home who will continue to support her medical needs and give her a safe place to recover.
